Born in Messina, Italy, Rotoletti studies photography at S. Mary's College and London Polytechnic. In the midst 1980s he moves to Milan where he turns to photojournalism and reportage, frequently using portrait as narrative means, Black and White and addressing social subjects. The fruitful period 1985-1990 is marked by many personal and collective exhibitions. In the 90s he engages in photo portraits of cultural, economic and show personalities, field in which he has become one of the most appreciated professional in Italy over the last 15 years. More recently, besides portraits commissioned by major information magazines (e.g. Corriere Magazine, Vanity Fair, Chi), he has devoted himself to wide-ranging works such as Faces of Wisdom (portraits of ca 40 Italian philosophers) andFaces, tales on the guests of Don Colmegna's Casa della Carita'.
