Between myth and reality, one of the places that marked the advent of the early 70s Hippy culture. Starting as a self-managed “social centre” that operated in the name of Peace, Love and Music until it became a community of wanderers in search of a future. The threat of eviction looming over like a sword of Damocles, however now accompanied also by the looming hypothesis of settling down. In 2011, years after its foundation, I looked for for faces and glimpses. The young flower children, turned parents first and grandparents later, still embodied the utopia of the commune in Christiania, where private property does not exist and the good of each is the good of all. A dream come true? Maybe, but greatly attractive to tourists.
